As an newcomer to the world of blogging, I was excited to discover today that I’d been nominated by a fellow blogger for the Liebster Award. Thanks, Lainey Loves Life! Lainey’s is a lifestyle blog with tips related to beauty, food, and motherhood. According to Lainey,

More often than not, I’m ambivalent when it comes to social media related superlatives and questionnaires, but this seems like a great opportunity to connect with others at a similar stage in their blog development. So…

Questions:

1 What do you do for a living? I take care of two itty bitty Manhattanites.
2 Who’s your favourite beauty icon? Liv Tyler all day. She’s always glowing and looking fresh.
3 What’s that one makeup tool you can’t live without? Does a hairbrush count?
4 Do you play any instrument? No, but if I did it would be the harp. I idolize Joanna Newsom.
5 If you could change your name, what name would you choose? I used to tell people my name was Sally, to the point where my mom had to ask that I stop. By now I’ve gotten my head around being called Sadie.
6 Who’s your celebrity crush? Kermit the Frog
7 Where’s your dream destination? New Zealand! Such incredible diversity in the landscape and opportunities for things to do. It’s just such a long haul to get there that I’ve been holding off visiting for when I have an opportunity to spend a long stretch of time there and really enjoy it. I’d also love to visit Romania.
8 Wine, liquor or juice? Tea.
9 A mansion in the city or a quaint home with a beautiful view? I live in a studio apartment… Mansions exist in cities? I would be inclined to say, at this stage in my life, in which I’m overwhelmed by the intensity of big cities, a quaint home with a beautiful view.

Eleven facts about me:

1 I have hundreds of freckles

2 My toes are double jointed

3 I’m obsessed with circus culture. If I were an anthropologist, that’d be my ethnographic focus

4 I can never breathe through my nose and am allergic to trees, leaves, grass, mold, pollen, hay and whatever else is outdoors

5 I dropped out of high school, but graduated college

6 I went skydiving with my dad for my 20th and his 50th birthday. I love thrilling activities that don’t require that I exert any energy

7 I would be happy with sweater-weather every day for the rest of eternity

8 I’ve never smoked a cigarette, primarily because I think they smell gross

9 I’m a ceramist and I love wheel throwing

10 I go all out on Halloween

11 I shower far too often, to wake up and later to fall asleep, but I’ve cut down on the length of my showers over the years
